I can't adequately express my thoughts about Janet. She was a world-leading chemist who came up the hard way, a kind and generous person, a determined advocate for good with a true sense of justice - although she didn't suffer fools - a brilliant (if messy) cook and a lover of good food and wine. One of the things I remember the most was her love of shoes. She just couldn't stop buying them, even if so many were totally impractical. She is very badly missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Janet.
